Mary Jo Foley tells us about Microsoft's new "textual modeling language" , codenamed "D". Apparently it's going to make software modeling more intuitive. Or something.
If not for my generally positive feelings towards F#, I'd be absolutely convinced Microsoft were merely intent on inflicting another "tools first" definition language upon the world in a bid to flog some new editor or VS plugin.
However, the real issue here is that Microsoft leaked "D" and thus trampling over the good name of the D, the pragmatic systems programming language (C programmers, reformed or otherwise should check it out.)
Sure, sure, it's reportedly just a codename - I just hope they don't try and make it stick.
